Fine dust keeps coating our windows in Cantonment — can cleaning actually keep up?

A question we often hear from homeowners in Cantonment.

We're off Muscogee Road, not far from the mill, and there's always a fine layer of dust on the windows and screens no matter how often I hose them off. Does professional cleaning actually make a difference or will it just come right back?

Answer from the WAHOO! Team

You've hit on the exact problem with hosing it: that fine mill-area dust doesn't rinse, it smears — and half of what looks like dirty glass is actually the film sitting on your screens and sills. A proper cleaning handles all three: we wash and hand-detail the glass, pull and hand-wash the screens, and wipe down the sills and frames so the whole window comes back clear instead of just streaky-clean. Being honest with you: the dust will keep coming — that's the neighborhood, not the cleaning. That's why most of our customers near the Muscogee corridor run a recurring exterior plan so the buildup never gets ahead of them again. A little more on the Cantonment specifics: mill fallout plus pine pollen is a uniquely sticky combination — the particulate is fine enough to bond with dew into a film that regular hose rinsing just smears around. Two things matter for it: a purified-water rinse so the film releases fully and nothing re-deposits as the glass dries, and enough frequency that the layer never builds to the point where it starts dulling the pane between cleanings. Homes closer to the plant or under heavy pine cover usually do best on a quarterly rhythm — which also happens to cost $100 less per visit than one-time pricing on our plan. Screens matter double here too, since they catch the same fallout and gray-out the whole window; ours get hand-washed with every deep clean.
